The new Garmin Edge 800 touchscreen GPS bike computer has some pretty amazing features. You can move the maps around and increase or decrease their size all with your fingers.

GArmin also announced the purchase of a Silicon Valley company that will begin producing significantly lower cost power devices that attach to the pedals.

This is all good news for cyclists as power data will become more affordable in 2011.

Yes, the Garmin EDGE 800 bike GPS computer is a great addition to the cycling gear for the 2011 season and it looks like it's a must-buy and must-have for serious cyclists.

In my opinion Garmin has greatly improved the design of the GPS cycling computer compared to the previous model Edge 705 and the screen and functionality also appears to have been greatly improved.

The process of registering and installing maps for the previous model (Garmin Edge 705) was pretty difficult and certianlly not user friendly. I hope Garmin has improved it so that the Edge 800 is easier to install and set-up for the first time.

At a cost of $450 in the online Garmin store it's a must-buy for me and a good gift idea for Christmas. I'm gonna buy one hoping the initial installation has gotten more user friendly and I'm also gonna give it as a Christmas present to a family member .. shh .. don't tell anyone Wink

New Garmin Edge 800 Touchscreen GPS bike computer is awesome. And the Garmin-Barracuda Jerseys 2012 are awesome too.

Strength does not come from physical capacity. It comes from an indomitable will.
