ASO, UCI and Astana

I have been watching the unfolding of the ASO, UCI and Astana situation with sadness.
It was caused by ASO. They unjustly expelled Astana from their events for no good reason even after they were in favor of Johann Bruyneel taking over the team. The UCI is the only organization fighting for Astana and looking out for the riders. It seems the teams, the brethren of Astana, could care less. 15 teams voted to start Paris Nice and the other 8 abstained. This shows me they no regard for the UCI and Astana even though the UCI has been their biggest supporter. ASO could care less. Their concern is profits. I, being a capitalist, agree with them. That is what they are in business for. The sponsors are interested in the representation of their products. Perhaps they could let the ASO know that they might pull their team funding. Allot of money at stake. It would be enough to sway the ASO. The ASO has no events if they don't have teams.
It is up to the teams to make their statement for Astana and the UCI. Stop acting like cowards. Stand up for both Astana and the UCI.
It will be interesting to see how the dust settles when or if the UCI begins the process of suspending riders. I have no sympathy for them. As my dad used to say to me:” you can make any choice you want. Just remember you get the consequences with it so no whining.”
