The organizers of the Giro need to rework their rest day system. The 2010 race is only three days old--hardly long enough for the riders to break a sweat--and they are getting their first rest day, which is actually a transit day. The second rest day will be after the 15th stage. Given that the race is 21 stages long, the first rest day should be after the seventh or eighth stage. Last year, I believe that the first rest day was after the fourth stage. The rest days are very well thought out. The riders get rest before they need it and then go too far to the second rest day.
