Post-ride Hunger

I typically ride 30+ miles a day. Usually, I ride in the early evening and will sip Gatorade after the one hour mark to keep from getting lethargic. After I get home I become extremely hungry and may even eat everything in site. (Not joking)

If I ride earlier in the day, I have found that I do not feel as hungry, but 11 am rides are not usually an option.

Any advice on keeping the post-ride hunger under control?

There is a plenty of information about post-ride recovery and I'm no nutritionist, but you shouldn't be fighting the urge to eat after your ride.

Your planning for that inevitable (and not unhealthy) urge should start in the grocery store so that you have the right kind of foods to aid your post-ride recovery. The right combination of protein/carbs/fat taken shortly after a ride can do wonders for how you feel immediately after the ride as well as the next day.

So don't fight the feeling, just feed it properly.
