I currently am riding a hybrid bike and started to ride 20-25 miles two to three days a week last week. There is the boulder sunrise century ride coming up on June 18th. I wanted to ride in the century ride and wanted to know if 5 weeks 2-3 rides a week with be enough time to complete the ride in a reasonable time. I am 24 and about 205lbs right now. In addition, I want to get an entry level road bike, I am considering a trek 1.5 triple, cannondale synapse 6, and giant defy 2. Any advice on the bike and I will be going to my LBS to try all three.

Alot of it depends on the landscape. If there will be alot of climbing you may want to get a compact front gear. The biggest things to look at is how the bike feel and if you have diffrent LBS to compare find out how much maintence they include in new bikes.
